Holistic essentially means to treat the whole instead of just parts. The disease of alcoholism and addiction is a three fold disease consisting of the spiritual, physical and mental aspects of the person affected. It takes a holistic approach to heal from this kind of disease. It takes treating the spiritual, the mental and the physical in order to truly recover.
