Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have “effectively” separated although the pair have yet to seek out divorce lawyers, according to a new report from TMZ.
The pair have been apart since last Wednesday when Kardashian tried to stage an intervention for Odom, who is allegedly addicted to crack cocaine.
The gossip website claims that sources have told them people on Lamar’s side, and on the Kardashian side have not been able to find Lamar or contact him for nearly 4 days — and that the main concern is he’s hiding out while doing crack cocaine.
TMZ reported that Lamar has had a problem for 2 years. It got so bad, last August Khloe pressured Lamar to go to rehab. Lamar went to a facility in San Diego, but he was so resistant Khloe hired private investigators to secretly stand guard at the rehab place to make sure he didn’t leave. The P.I.s stood guard 24/7. Lamar allegedly left after three weeks anyway.
After that stint in rehab, he was able to stay clean throughout the basketball season. But when the off-season started in May, he reportedly fell off the wagon and began using again.
After the failed intervention, Lamar took off, and hasn’t been seen since, says TMZ.
“Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage,” a source told TMZ. “The situation has become dire.”
