Jenna Jameson, the world’s most famous adult entertainer and a New York Times Best Selling author for her memoir “How To Make Love Like a Porn Star,” appeared on Good Day New York Monday afternoon to promote her first novel “Sugar.” The 39-year-old former adult film star seemed to be a bit out of it during the interview, slurring her words and fidgeting in her seat. According to TMZ, Jameson was scheduled to appear on two segments, but her interview was cut short due to her bizarre behavior.
Things started off rocky for Jameson, who began by explaining that her book Sugar is autobiographical and insisted it is much coarser than the sadomasochistic bestseller, 50 Shades of Grey.
‘It’s about me,’ she explained, very slowly. ‘Well I didn’t want it to be exactly what I’ve always done so I made up a fantastic yummy story.’
However, Jenna – who has been accused of having an addiction to the powerful painkiller, Oxycontin, also known as hillbilly heroin, by her former boyfriend Tito Ortiz – appeared distracted during the brief interview.
She gave short, vague answers, weighing in on such topics as late adult film legend Linda Lovelace (‘Whatever she had to say, I seem to think that it was bull’); her thoughts about doing porn while married (‘I was always really good at being monogamous’); and tweeting about her UFC fighter ex, Tito Ortiz (‘Everything’s going well’).
Pals of the porn star are said to be concerned for her welfare and have apparently tried to get her to go to rehab to get treated for her dependency on Oxycontin.
A source close to Jenna told Popdust: ‘She is a complete mess right now and is barely holding it together. All of her friends have tried to talk her into going to rehab to get treatment but she is in complete denial about her problem.’
Jameson, who has battled substance abuse in the past, has since denied she was under the influence during the Fox network interview, insisting she was just suffering from a lack of sleep.
She tells TMZ.com, ‘(I was) very tired. I was exhausted.’
Jameson hit headlines last year after she was hit with a DUI charge for crashing her car in Orange County, California. She was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to take a three-month alcohol education program after reaching a plea deal to keep her out of jail.
