How Quitting Smoking Can Help Your Success After Drug Rehab

Quitting smoking can help your success after drug rehab in a multiple number of ways. The number one reason quitting smoking can help your success after drug rehab is because smoking can essentially end your life quickly after you worked so hard to get off the drugs and alcohol. Along with that the behavior that comes along with smoking cigarettes is the same behavior addicts and alcoholics develop during their drug and alcohol use. The same parts of the brain that were affected during drug and alcohol use are affected and active in cigarette smoking. Quitting smoking can help your success after drug rehab because you are no longer activating those parts of your brain which are the addict or alcoholic mind.

We all know how bad smoking is for you so we can only imagine all the benefits you would get from quitting smoking and how it can help your success after drug rehab. Drug rehab is essentially to get you back to mental, physical and spiritual health. Smoking holds you back from finding the physical and mental health. We all want to live to the fullest and quitting smoking can help your success after drug rehab with that. Smoking can cut years off a wonderful life you have now that you are sober!

Quitting smoking is usually the last obstacle that most addicts and alcoholics have to climb and it is usually the hardest. Quitting smoking can help your success after drug rehab in giving you the years you may miss due to smoking.

I have to be honest right now about this topic. While everything I have said in the above paragraphs is true I personally dont believe the smoking will hinder your success after drug rehab. Now can quitting smoking help your success after drug rehab, yeah I am sure it can. The thing is though from my own personal experience I know that I went to drug rehab and have been sober over a year now and haven’t quit smoking. While quitting smoking can enhance your chances for success I do not think it will hold you back either. Do I plan on quitting eventually, yeah I do. Have I done it yet and found a lack of success? Absolutely not. As an addict and alcoholic myself I know that nothing has to hinder my success in finding lifetime sobriety if I do the right things everyday. I give this amount success up to the fact that I have found a higher power and that higher power helps me everyday. So regardless if I quit smoking or not I have found that I can now call myself a recovered alcoholic and addict because of this higher power.

Now would I probably lead a healthier and longer life if I quit smoking? Sure. Just dont think that because you dont quit means you cant find success after drug rehab. You can. I did.
