In the News: Justin Bieber's DUI Video Released, Seems to Stumble

Miami prosecutors released 10 hours of video Wednesday, part of which demonstrate Justin Bieber stumbling through a sobriety test. It’s one video that Justin Bieber hopes doesn’t become a viral hit. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors released a video taken at a Miami Beach police station that shows Bieber stumbling his way through a sobriety test after his January 23rd arrest on DUI and drag racing charges.

In the surveillance video taken at the Miami Beach police station, Justin Bieber is seen arguing with a police officer. 19-year-old Bieber faces misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, DUI and driving with a non-valid license after he was pulled over in his rented Lamborghini. A drug test found traces of marijuana, the antidepressant Xanax and amounts of alcohol below the legal limit.

Bieber has pleaded not guilty. 10 hours of video was released on Wednesday to the AP, with just a small amount of it involving the Canadian artist. In the video it clearly shows the singer off-balance and swaying as he tries to turn and change direction. The video also allegedly seems to show Bieber in the middle of an active, finger-pointing match with an arresting officer, appearing to highlight the police report’s account of Bieber as uncooperative.

In a fractional victory, Bieber’s legal team effectively petitioned the judge to block the release of numerous parts of the video that showed the “Boyfriend” singer’s private parts. Among the redacted scenes was video of Bieber urinating for a drug test.

In my opinion, I think Justin Bieber should definitely suffer the consequences of being under the influence and driving but I think that the video showing his private parts shouldn’t have even been in question to be seen by the world. I’m not sure if Bieber is an addict or alcoholic or not  but if he is, I can only imagine the way the world is handling his issues not supporting him in wanting to get sober. Everyone is being very harsh on him and his actions and I think that people need to realize that maybe he just needs some help and guidance.

People are so cruel now-a-days that it can make it impossible for someone to want to be open about their addiction and problems and cause people to not seek help. I admire the stars that are open about their issues and show what their lives have become from being in recovery from drugs and alcohol. It would probably be a good thing if Bieber was sent to drug and alcohol treatment for his actions. Whether he is an addict or not, it could definitely help him to see the consequences of his behaviors. And if he is an addict, it can help him to find a solution to his problems. Bieber would have a long and big career ahead of him if he just got his act together. I hope the judge gives him a consequence that helps him work on himself.
