There are many different signs that someone needs rehab. Some of the signs I thought of are either things I know people have done or things I have done, either way most of it is based on personal experiences. Each person is different and knows they have a problem and need help in their own way. There are countless amounts of ways you know you need rehab; so I just thought of 15 signs you need rehab.
15 Signs You Need Rehab…
1. You are or have thought about being a drug dealer (well, Breaking Bad made it look so easy!)
2. You are constantly being asked if you are on drugs or drunk by everyone (and you’re always trying to prove otherwise)
3. When the alcohol or drugs are gone, you are not the person anyone wants to be around (who would you be happy about that though, right?)
4. Anytime someone suggests you are under the influence in even the slightest way, you freak out (how dare you say I’m drunk/high?!)
5. You’re at a point in life where you just don’t care if people know you are drunk or high anymore (who cares anyways, you all think I am anyways)
6. You have at least one item of clothing with burn holes in it from nodding out with a lit cigarette (I know I do)
7. Any ideas you ever have are usually bad ones (like that time you were in the hospital after an OD and called a friend to bring you drugs, bad idea)
8. You’ve slept on the bathroom floor or toilet before (not your finest moment but it was just so cold and you were sick, I totally get it)
9. You don’t understand regular size wine glasses, it’s all gone in like 5 minutes (seriously, might as well just drink from the bottle)
10. It is near impossible for you to do any activity without being drunk or high (everything is just so boring)
11. Drinking and getting high are hobbies and you feel proud to be an expert on it all
12. When someone even slightly mentions the word drugs, you are 100% attentive (what was that you said about drugs?)
13. It is very common for the people close to you to smell to see if there is alcohol on your breath (and you totally have no idea why)
14. Life is just so much better when the sun isn’t out and nobody else is awake (you finally get some alone time and people aren’t bothering you)
15. Drinking and doing drugs is just your lifestyle, it’s what your life was meant to be about (ever since you first tried it, you knew this!)
With all of this being said, needing treatment and help with addiction is very personal and case by case with each person. I know that when I needed help, I didn’t think I did but everyone around me knew I was having issues. It turns out that in the disease of addiction, we are usually the last ones to know we have it.
