Going into rehab can be quite a challenge and new experience for some people. In rehab, things happen that don’t usually go on in the ‘real world’ as you would call it. Things happen that are crazy and out of the ordinary; so I’ve listed 10 ridiculous things that could only happen in rehab.
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 1) Hiding in a Closet with your Cell Phone Like its drugs
Only in rehab do you find people hiding (see picture above) and sneaking around with cell phones as if it is a brick of cocaine. I’ve seen girls keep them in their pillow case and sleep on them at night and hide in closets and the bathtub to talk on their cell phones.
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 2) Mock Weddings
This one they don’t do in all rehabs but sometimes if you are caught hooking up with someone in rehab they will make you two do a mock wedding. I mean after all, you have finally found your soul mate so you might as well have a practice wedding with them for all your friends in rehab to attend.
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 3) People Trying to get High on Household Products
I remember being in rehab and seeing people drink hand sanitizer and try huffing pine sol. This is the only time I’ve seen people try to get high off things that just seem completely insane. Drinking your mouthwash, huffing hairspray, huffing cleaning products, etc…
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 4) People Having Sex in the Most Awkward Places
Drug addicts and alcoholics will truly go to any lengths to get laid. Couples will have sex in the most strange and awkward places like behind dumpsters, bathrooms, outside ANYWHERE, sheds and so on and so forth. Because I mean when we get sober, the most important thing is to have sex, of course.
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 5) Having People Sneak in Drugs and Alcohol
Seriously, why are you here? People come into rehab and will sneak in bottles of alcohol or different drugs and I just don’t get it. Some people will even call their drug dealers and have them throw things over the fence! Why don’t you just leave?
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 6) People Denying Having a Problem, Yet you’re in Rehab for the 14th time?
It’s not for me to decide but I think that if you’re in rehab more than once, you might want to consider that something isn’t working for you. Being in rehab over and over (especially 14 times) is not a sign that you’re really doing great at this life thing; let’s try something different maybe?
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 7) Quitting Drugs & Alcohol but Starting Smoking Cigarettes
Only in a rehab have I ever seen people quit using drugs and alcohol and then decide to pick up smoking cigarettes as a new habit. With this one I kind of understand it, but it’s like if you’re quitting drugs and alcohol, why pick up a new unhealthy habit?
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 8) Snorting Non-Narcotic Meds to Get High
I did this once, and let me suggest against it. My first time in rehab, I was 18 years old and decided it would be a good idea to snort my sleeping meds Seroquel. The only thing I can remember it doing to me was REALLY hurting my nose and making my eyes tear, that’s it. It’s a non-narcotic for a reason, don’t snort it!
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 9) Thinking 30 Days is forever
When we realize we have to be in treatment for 30 days, we all freak out. Not only is 30 days practically a lifetime, but we are kind of a big deal and have very important lives to get back to. How can you expect us to stay in Rehab for 30 whole days?!
10 Ridiculous Things That Could Only Happen in Rehab: 10) People Trying to Break out of Rehab When its Voluntary & They Can Just Leave
I am guilty of this one, too. Not actually breaking out but devising a whole entire plan of how I was going to break out in the middle of the night and what exactly I was going to do. The funny thing is (most of the time) rehab is voluntary! You can leave at any time. Also, mostly everyone who wants to break out says they are going to come right back. They just want to leave for a little while, they’ll be back though.
