Just like most drugs, molly can be addictive. Teens are hooked on molly because of its fun and euphoric effects that make any kind of day just a little bit more interesting. Since 2011, the amount of teens hooked on molly dropped from around 5% to around 2%. The drop among older teens hooked on molly is close in percentage. The amount of teens hooked on molly in the past year or that had used molly in the past year had dropped significantly also.

So are teens really hooked on molly?

Like all other drugs teens can get hooked on molly and they are. The overall numbers may have dropped, but there are still thousands of teens addicted to molly and in need of help. Signs of Molly addiction include taking the drug despite the negative consequences, unpleasant side effects, and other social, behavioral, legal and health consequences.

Just like cocaine, heroin, and marijuana addiction – teens can get hooked on Molly based on a person’s genes, living environment, and other factors. Some teens will continue to take molly in order to prevent an onset of depression that will result from the stabilization of mood. The diminishing feeling of euphoria can cause some people to feel suicidal. Molly addiction is serious and once a teen gets addicted it can be hard, but not impossible, to wean them off the drug.
