Alcohol Addiction Needs A Spiritual Solution
Alcohol addiction is a foe that you can’t defeat alone. No human power can save you from alcohol addiction. You can’t save yourself from your alcohol addiction. You can’t control your alcohol addiction.
So how do you recover from an alcohol addiction? If all those things listed above hold true how do you become a recovered alcoholic or addict?
The statistics for recovery are bleak. I think it is something like 1 out of 10 people will recover from alcohol addiction. If this holds true then most of us would not make it. Luckily this statistic is warped in the sense that it doesn’t take into account a higher power. It also does not factor in our willingness to get away from our alcohol addiction or the force of human spirit. Realize I say human spirit not human will.
Our situation seems to be a hopeless one. It seems to be, while we are out drinking and using, a one way street straight to hell. This needn’t be the case even when we are suffering the terrors of alcohol addiction. The statistics don’t have to apply and the hopeless, powerlessness doesn’t have to hold you hostage. Alcohol addiction is a disease that can be treated. Alcohol addiction in the end once you have recovered can become one of the greatest blessings in your life.
Recovering from alcohol addiction is more than possible with a reliance on God. I have hesitated to say it. I have decided I won’t anymore. I know how I recovered from my alcohol addiction and I am going to share it with you.
The way you recover from alcohol addiction doesn’t have to be through treatment or rehab, or anything of the sort. The way you recover from alcohol addiction is you find a spiritual experience. You open lines of communication with something bigger than yourself. You work a spiritual program, whatever that is for you. No human power can keep us sober-we are powerless. Alcohol addiction is our master for however long we continue to drink. As soon as we make a decision to turn our lives over to something I call God, alcohol addiction starts to fade. Sometimes it happens rapidly, sometimes it takes a little bit of time. Either way it is guaranteed if you take the action with a spiritual program and live with the presence of a God you don’t have to drink again. I know this worked for me.
Don’t get me wrong treatment and rehab gave me a lot of tools I needed to live a wonderful life, I use them every day. A higher power gave me what I needed to live in peace within myself instead of looking outwardly for it. Yes, this blog is my opinion but more importantly this blog today is my experience. This is how I recovered. A spiritual program of action was my solution to my alcohol addiction. I can now say with confidence that I am a recovered alcoholic no longer recovering.
Alcohol addiction can be treated, treated with a spiritual solution. This solution does not just allow you to stop drinking it also allows you to start living on a whole different level of thought and experience.
